Today we had class in Escola de Artes Visuais de Parque Lage. Sue gave a lecture on sustainability and after we had time to work on our final sketches. Jules and Sue walked around to help everyone and give ideas for layout and composition. Everyone worked extremely hard to make it the best they could using ink pens, pencils, and colored pencils. While many of us had our mental breakdowns (cough cough Nicole), we all finished and they turned out spectacular for our gallery on Saturday. After class, Meg and I went to H. Stern to have a jewelry tour. We got to see how the gems were cut and set into jewelry. We even got to try on some rings, necklaces, and earrings while they catered to us with drinks. Unfortunately we werent allowed to take picutres during the tour. After we tried stuff on, we got to go to the gift shop. Meg bought a BEAUTIFUL painting. We ended the day sitting on the wall watching the sunset and eating the pizza cart R$4 pizza. Yummmmmm, he didnt speak a word of English but by the end of the trip he knew our pizza orders. (and the fact that we always got 2 each)
